This article proposes two types of microstrip array antennas operating in E-band for millimeter wave radar applications: patch array antennas and comb array antennas. The design principle and method of the two array antennas are demonstrated
whose performances are obtained by the three-dimensional electromagnetic full-wave simulations. By analyzing and comparing the impedance and radiation characteristics of two types of array antennas
the advantages and disadvantages of the two microstrip structures are summarized.
